Apprentice Boilermaker/Welder

Hangan Steel is a leading structural steel manufacturer and installer in Victoria, who specialises in fabricating and installing structural steel for residential and commercial works. We are a team of 30+ staff across two locations (Bayswater and Warragul), and are continuing to grow. We are looking for reliable and eager apprentices to become a part of our rapidly expanding team at our Bayswater location.

You will be learning

• Weld and fabricate structural steel
• Manual assembly
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints
• Using hand and machine tools, welding equipment
• Using various techniques which include welding, bolting, riveting to align, assemble and fix pieces together to create parts and structures
• Adding together finishing touches in the form of cleaning, polishing, filing and adding protective or decorative finishes

• Working Monday – Friday 7am – 3.30pm, with overtime as required

What you should bring to the role

• Are mature and reliable
• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills
• Commitment to adherence of company safety policies and procedures
• Ability to get yourself to sites as required (driver’s license preferred, but not essential)
